Silent No More Awareness Campaign Launches New Web site

The Silent No More Awareness Campaign today unveiled a new home page designed to make its three-fold mission immediately understandable and accessible.

The top of the page at www.SilentNoMoreAwareness.org features buttons for women who are pregnant and need help, for those who are suffering from the pain of a past abortion and need healing, and for those who want to become more involved in reaching out to pregnant women and post-abortive mothers and fathers.

“When we launched our first site in 2003, we wanted to make sure it had all the information we wanted to get out,” said Georgette Forney, co-founder of Silent No More and president of Anglicans for Life. “The new site makes sure we are reaching all the people we want to share that information with. The connection with those we’re trying to reach is more obvious.”

Janet Morana, co-founder of Silent No More and executive director of Priests for Life, said the updated look of the new site helps make it much more user friendly.

“It allows visitors to clearly and quickly get to wherever they want to go,” Mrs. Morana said.

The testimonies of women and men who regret their past abortions have always been a popular draw for site visitors, and are still readily accessible. A new “Featured Story of the Day,” brings visitors to the testimony section, which also can be accessed from the “Stories” button at the top of the page.

“The voices of the men and women who have had abortions, and have come to regret it, are the most powerful weapons we have in our fight to end abortion,” said Father Frank Pavone, pastoral director of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and National Director of Priests for Life.

Proof of the Silent No More web site’s power came with a phone call to the campaign office the day before New Year’s Eve. Mrs. Forney answered a call from a mother of three who said she an appointment to abort her fourth child the following day. After reading some of the testimonies, she realized “She didn’t want to have the regret these women suffer from. And she was concerned that, although she is always able to forgive others, she might not ever be able to forgive herself.”

By the end of their conversation, the woman realized she didn’t need to “depend on abortion” to solve the challenges the unplanned pregnancy presented. She told Mrs. Forney she was canceling her appointment.

“As we unveil this website, we invite all groups and Churches to use it as a key resource for help after abortion and for strength to those who might otherwise make that mistake,” Father Pavone said.

Visit the new site at www.SilentNoMoreAwareness.org. To reach the office by phone, call 1-800-707-6635 or 1-888-735-3448.
