Pro-life supporters meet at annual Roe V. Wade memorial

What they lacked in numbers, they made up with in resolve as about 100 pro-life supporters met for the annual Roe V. Wade memorial service at First Lutheran Church in Inverness Monday.

Each year, Citrus County Right to Life sponsors a solemn memorial service that marks the anniversary of Roe V. Wade, the landmark Jan. 22, 1973, U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion on demand.

To date, more than 59 million abortions have been performed in the United States since 1973.

“Whether it’s a teenager who learns she’s pregnant and thinks her life is over or a working mom who already has three kids and already struggles to make ends meet and doesn’t know how she can take care of another child — life is not always easy, and that’s where we get to come in and encourage these women to make life-affirming choices and then follow them through the whole process.” — Stephanie Bell, Pregnancy & Family Life Center of Citrus County director.
