My live-in girlfriend had an abortion because she had three children at the time. Although I said at the time, “Let’s consider having the child,” it was half-hearted, and I went along with the decision. I buried the memory deep, and it took a series of panic attacks to uncover this tragic event. The impact was promiscuity, alcohol abuse, and relationship issues as time went on.
I started the healing process via a Rachel's retreat where we learned to forgive ourselves and ask God for forgiveness. I am freeing myself from the shame and will be silent no more.
