Co-Founder, Silent No More Awareness
Associate Director, Priests for Life
 Janet A. Morana, P.D., serves as a co-founder of the "Silent No More" Awareness Campaign, a national effort to assist women who have had abortions to share their testimonies. She is also the Associate Director of Priests for Life, and assistant to the National Director, Fr. Frank Pavone.
Mrs. Morana was born in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Catholic schools there and
received her B.A. in foreign languages from St. Francis College. In 1990, she
was awarded a Masters degree in Education from the College of Staten Island. In
2000, she received a Professional Diploma in Reading from St. John's University,
graduating with several awards for academic excellence.
For eleven years, Mrs. Morana served as a full-time public school teacher in
Staten Island New York. During that time, she spearheaded numerous literacy,
science, cultural and educational programs and won many awards and financial
grants for her school district.
Mrs. Morana is a certified CCD teacher, an Extraordinary Minister of the
Eucharist, and a former member of the executive board of the Staten Island Right
to Life Committee. In 1993, she ran for the New York City Council on the
Right-to-Life Line and received the largest percentage of votes of any Right to
Life candidate in the Party's history.
Since 1989, Mrs. Morana has devoted an enormous amount of time to pro-life
activities. In addition to assistant to Fr. Pavone since his ordination in 1988,
she has also traveled extensively throughout the country, giving pro-life
training seminars for the laity, and representing Priests for Life at various
local and national pro-life conferences. In her position as Associate Director
for the organization, she oversees several important departments, including
pro-life resources, correspondence, priest travels, and Media Productions. She
is featured on Fr. Pavone's Defending Life Series seen on EWTN. She is the
Co-host and Producer on the Gospel of Life series seen on Sky Angel Network, a
weekly guest on Teresa Tomeo’s radio show and she gives numerous media
interviews. She serves as a co-founder of the "Silent No More" Awareness
Campaign, a national effort to assist women who have had abortions to share
their testimonies.
In 2003 she addressed the Pro-Life Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives
on life issues.
