I am currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of the Pregnancy Resource Connection in Granby Colorado. I am residing in two states right now, Texas and Colorado.
I was instrumental in bringing The Life Ballet into the area from Rochester, New York to perform at our annual Banquet/Fundraiser.
One of the sections of the performance was a scene that takes place in front of an abortion facility and the director asked for volunteers to be on stage and act as silent witnesses as the dancers danced around us on their way into the clinic for scheduled abortions.
I volunteered and asked if I could carry my I Regret My Abortion sign and the director Sandy Arena said that would be very powerful. Three other women volunteered. Each of them had gone through the forgiven and Set Free Bible study of which I was the facilitator and two of them had also attended a Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat. All of them felt very secure that they could participate in this highly emotional scene. Part of the scene involved a man coming on the stage and screaming rudely and accusingly at all of us. If any of you have ever prayed in front of an abortion facility you will know what this is like. It was an amazing experience for us on stage but I believe also for the audience who perhaps did not know that these things happen on a regular basis to those who hold I Regret My Abortion signs.
The ballet ends with a beautiful encounter with the lead actresses’ encounter with her children and Jesus.
We received a standing ovation at the end.
I believe that this performance by the Life Ballet tells all of our stories. It tells of our regret and our healing and redemption. It was an important step in the healing of the women who played the part of silent witnesses. I was so proud of them.
The audience was educated in the emotional and physical havoc abortion plays on all involved in an abortion.
I recommend that if the Life Ballet is anywhere in your area you go and see it for yourself. I have enclosed some pictures from the performance also.
The job of a Regional Coordinator is never boring and God always has something interesting for you to do.
Your sister in Christ,
Patricia Pulliam-Regional Coordinator –Texas and helper in Colorado
