We Can't Live a Lie

We cannot live a lie…and live in peace! We must speak the TRUTH!

And the Truth is that abortion has a profound impact on our lives.

I know firsthand that the deep, dark secret of my two abortions kept me enslaved for over 30 years. The damages of unresolved guilt, grief and shame played havoc on my personal life, but I never connected the dots. Like most people who’ve experienced abortion, I tried to bury the emotional pain and memories deep in my soul. I did my best to strain forward in motherhood, marriage, career, and community involvement. But my heart wouldn't settle...those abortions haunted me...and living a lie was killing me!

Mounting research shows the emotional and physical effects of abortion on both men and women, including depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, promiscuity, compulsions, risky conduct, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...as well as suicide and other self destructive behaviors. I fell in to most of those categories!

It took years for me to finally realize I needed help and healing. In His perfect timing, God led me to a transforming weekend retreat that brought His love, forgiveness, and hope back in to my life. I was able to start moving forward, connecting the dots, and unravel my buried grief…and most important, I was able to give dignity and respect to my precious babies whose lives I took so many years ago. This is for you Timmy and Mary D!!!

By speaking the truth with love, my hope and prayer is that the millions of people suffering in silence, many of you here today, will seek help and God’s amazing grace and forgiveness.
